Sharing intimate images without consent, known as picture-based sexual abuse, has become one of the fastest growing forms of online exploitation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Experts estimate that about 5 percent of people are subjected to this type of torture before they reach adulthood.<\/span><\/p>\n

This includes sharing offensive pictures or videos without permission, as well as threatening to publish them as means of coercion or revenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

While internet has made communication much easier than ever, it has brought private breaches to the public in a frightening manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

In many cases, the offender is not a stranger, but a once trusted person of the victim\u2014a current or former partner.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other cases, organized online groups buy and promote intimate images without consent using messaging apps and private channels.<\/span><\/p>\n
