In 2023, 41.6 percent of girls in Bangladesh had child marriage before 18 years of age. In 2022, the rate was 40.9 percent, in 2021, 32.4 percent and 31.34 percent in 2020. The rate of child marriage for girls 15 years and younger is 8.1 percent, which is 6.5 percent in 2022. The rate of child marriage before 18 years is more than 44.4 percent in rural areas.
