In religious institutions, especially in madrasas, the incidence of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of minors has increased alarmingly.
Some imams and mawlvies sexually abuse minors in the guise of ‘granting’ to minors and sometimes this sexual exploitation is long-term, even in that particular institution it will often create an unprecedented cycle where the oppressed person can grow up and oppress others.
Sexual harassment of children in religious institutions like madrasas and mosques is less publicly involved, mainly involved in three prohibited subjects (sexuality, minor, and religion). However, recently there have been several cases reported in Opindia and other media houses that show the need to take action for justice for the victims. Here is a list of cases reported from different places in India in the last 15 days.
Ajmer police arrested six minors madrasa students on Sunday (May 12) on Sunday (May 12), allegedly killing Imam Maulana Mohammad Mahir (32) of Rajarashtra's Ajmer Mohammad Mahir (32) on April 27. According to the report, all the students of the madrasa were telling a different story about the murder of the students, who claimed three masked men had come to the madrasa and killed Mohammed Mahir and threatened them to keep quiet.
